We have been based in Burton since our business first started and so Burton has become our home in every sense of the word. We are a local employer as well and we will always go beyond our legal obligations to make a real and lasting contribution to the community in which we live.

Environmental Responsibility

Wherever possible, we aim to specify and install systems that are as environmentally friendly as possible. For example, our air conditioning systems are engineered for low noise and low energy demands. Many of the systems we install carry (Environmental Protection Agency) ‘A’ ratings. This means our systems are as efficient as possible.

Our work as solar panel installers means we can help businesses and members of the public reduce their use of finite fossil fuels. By installing clean solar energy systems, we also help our customers reduce emissions.

Community Framework

At Mace, we believe in supporting our local community and community initiatives. We aim to use our skills and expertise to positively contribute to the quality of life in the areas where we work.

We have our own ‘stakeholder map’ to focus on positive community actions and to help our staff increase their understanding of community issues. Our community framework strategy allows us to successfully work with selected communities in Burton and District. We enable our employees to participate fully in community activities as part of our development programmes, specific workplace initiatives or individual voluntary work. We also encourage our partners and stakeholders to join in with us.

How Have Mace Helped The Community?

At Mace, we have worked on a range of community projects. These include:

• Wolverhampton Housing – bringing 87 dilapidated flats to acceptable standard and assisting residents to reoccupy their homes.
• Market Place, Burton – protecting Grade II listed properties for future generations.
• St Lawrences Church, Measham – minimising damage to valuable fabric of 12th century building for benefit of entire congregation.
• Stretton Playing Fields – providing CCTV, lighting for aged 8 to 40+ to play safely in football leagues.
• Trent and Dove Housing – improvements to homes for residents in Burton and Uttoxeter.
• John of Rolleston School - WIFI fire detection-alarms protect 330 primary school children plus teachers.
• CARE initiative – 265 upgraded alarm systems for victims of serious crimes
